Honey

Honey is a spirited, joyful 30-year-old mare whose determined presence carries the wisdom of a long life well lived.  For more than 27 years, she was cared for by the same devoted human, forming a bond rooted in consistency, trust, and love. Alongside her bonded partner, Cactus, Honey knew one home, one rhythm, and one heart.  When life circumstances changed for her longtime caretaker, a heartbreaking decision had to be made. With deep love and care, Honey and Cactus were entrusted to Cimarron Equine Sanctuary—a place where their bond would be honored and their remaining years could unfold in peace.  Finding a safe, lifelong home for an older horse is often difficult. Seniors are too frequently overlooked. We are grateful that Honey’s journey has led her here, where she and Cactus will remain together, living out their lives within the safety of a natural herd of their senior residents and the steady rhythms of sanctuary life.  Honey’s youthful and determined spirit is demonstrated daily.  She is a reminder that age does not diminish worth—and that every horse deserves dignity, security, and love through all seasons of life.Honey is not yet sponsored.  By becoming part of her support family, you help ensure she receives the gentle care, nourishment, and comfort she needs to continue thriving. Your sponsorship is more than financial support—it is a promise that Honey is home and secure.

Sponsorship provides steady, monthly care for this horse.

Your support helps provide hay, nutritional supplements, veterinary cost, and the daily needs that allow them to live peacefully within the herd. Our objective is that each horse at Cimarron is supported by a small circle of monthly sponsors, ensuring their care remains consistent throughout the year for each horse.
