Grace
27 years old
Some horses arrive carrying hardship quietly.
Grace came to Cimarron Equine Sanctuary in December 2019 as a senior Thoroughbred mare, estimated to be in her early twenties. She had been living alone on pasture in the Columbia River Gorge when a compassionate local resident became concerned about her condition.
Seeing she needed help, he began bringing her hay, water, and feed each day while searching for a safer future for her.
Through an unexpected connection, he found Cimarron.
And Grace found her way home.
When Grace stepped into sanctuary, she did not simply find food and care — she found herd, safety, and belonging.
She was welcomed by our matriarch Farrah and slowly settled into the rhythms of life here: open pasture, trusted companions, and the quiet dignity every horse deserves.
True to her name, Grace carries a softness that changes the space around her. There is gentleness in her presence. A steadiness. Many horses seek comfort; Grace often seems to offer it.
She has a way of meeting you with calm eyes that seem to say everything is okay.
Over the years, Grace has become part of the heart of Cimarron. Her story is not only one of rescue, but of what becomes possible when compassion acts.
Become Part of Grace’s Story
Sanctuary is sustained one relationship at a time.
Sponsors help provide Grace’s hay, senior feed, veterinary care, hoof care, and the lifelong herd-centered home she will always have here.
When you sponsor Grace, you are not simply helping support a horse.
You become part of her circle of care.
Grace is available for sponsorship.
Your monthly support helps ensure horses like Grace live not in survival — but in peace.
Sponsorship provides steady, monthly care for this horse.
Your support helps provide hay, nutritional supplements, veterinary cost, and the daily needs that allow them to live peacefully within the herd. Our objective is that each horse at Cimarron is supported by a small circle of monthly sponsors, ensuring their care remains consistent throughout the year for each horse.
