Chili
We are thrilled to introduce the newest member of the Cimarron sanctuary, Chili, a handsome 27-year-old chestnut Thoroughbred gelding who joined us on April 20, 2026. Chili spent over two decades with his previous owner, who had loved him since 2004, and it is very clear that he was a deeply loved horse.
Flip up his upper lip, and you will find his old racing tattoo—a permanent reminder of his early days on the track and his formal training. Despite his thoroughbred roots and a lifetime with just one person, Chili surprised us all with one of the fastest transitions we have ever seen. He seamlessly blended right into our senior herd, officially making them a happy quintet. He is settling in beautifully, gaining weight, getting thoroughly groomed, and enjoying his retirement routine
